Meetlyr is a social meeting platform that connects individuals for community events and gatherings based on their preferences and interests.

Company Information:

Meetlyr (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides services through our website https://www.meetlyr.com (the “Site”) and mobile application “Meetlyr” (the “Web & Mobile App”), collectively referred to as the “Platform.”


1. General Principles

These terms and conditions (the “General Terms”) form the sole agreement governing our contractual relationship. They define the terms of use and access to the Services provided to any user (“User,” “you,” or “your”).

You can find these terms via a direct link at the bottom of the Platform’s pages.

By ticking the acceptance box during the registration process, you agree to the General Terms. If you do not agree with all the General Terms, you cannot access the Services.

Additional conditions may supplement these General Terms. In case of conflict, the additional conditions prevail.

These General Terms apply exclusively, overriding any other terms. Failure to exercise a right under these General Terms at any time will not constitute a waiver of such a right for the future nor imply modification of these terms.


2. Alignment of These Terms with Third-Party Terms

These provisions apply if you download the Mobile App via a third-party store (“Third Party”).

In the event of a conflict between the Third Party’s terms and these General Terms, the Third Party’s terms will take precedence. Meetlyr is not liable for goods or services provided by any Third Party.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • The Third Party is not a party to these General Terms

  • The Third Party has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the Mobile App

  • We are solely responsible for warranties related to the Mobile App, as outlined in these General Terms

  • We are solely responsible for addressing claims concerning the Mobile App, whether from you or a third party


3. Access to Services

Before creating an account on Meetlyr, ensure you are eligible to use our Services.

We are committed to maintaining a respectful community. By using our Services, you warrant that:

  • You are an individual (not a legal entity or corporation) at least 18 years old or of legal age to enter into a contract under the laws of your country of residence. In the UAE and certain other jurisdictions, you must be at least 21 years old

  • You are a consumer, acting outside your professional activities

  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract with Meetlyr

  • The law does not prohibit you from using our Services

  • You have not committed or been convicted of a serious offense, sexual crime, or violent crime, unless pardoned for a non-violent crime, and you do not pose a threat to other users

  • You have not been previously banned from our Services unless authorized in writing by us to create a new account

If you no longer meet these requirements, your access to the Services will be automatically revoked, and we may delete your access without notice.


4. Description of Services

The Services allow users to connect for community events and gatherings based on preferences and interests.

While we strive to provide meaningful connections, we cannot guarantee:

  • A specific gender ratio or age range at events

  • Compatibility with other participants

  • That all participants will make meaningful connections or establish relationships. Meetlyr does its best to match participants based on interests and preferences; however, we do not ensure or guarantee that all participants will successfully connect or form lasting relationships

  • Unique participants at each event. You may meet individuals you’ve previously interacted with, especially if no feedback was provided or positive feedback was given about them


5. Identity Verification & Know Your Customer (KYC) Compliance

5.1 Optional Verification for Suspicious Activity

To maintain community safety and comply with anti-money laundering and fraud prevention obligations, Meetlyr may request identity verification from you in the following circumstances:

  • Unusual account activity patterns (suspicious booking behavior, payment irregularities)

  • Multiple complaints from other users about your conduct

  • Suspected age misrepresentation or profile fraud

  • Payment processing errors or chargebacks

  • Violation of our Community Guidelines

  • Legal or regulatory obligations

5.2 NOT Automatic Vetting

IMPORTANT: Meetlyr uses selective identity verification for risk assessment ONLY. This means:

NOT all Meetlyr profiles are automatically verified. 
NOT all users are vetted with government IDs before attending events
Meetlyr DOES NOT guarantee that other participants have been KYC identity-verified
Meetlyr DOES NOT endorse or warrant the accuracy of user-provided information

You acknowledge that other users may be unverified and that Meetlyr performs no background checks on the general user population unless specifically triggered by suspicious activity.

Only suspicious profiles are vetted pre-event to ensure community safety, however, this does not automatically ensure so. 

5.3 Voluntary Verification Option

Users may VOLUNTARILY submit identity verification to establish a “Verified” profile badge, which may increase trust with other users. Verification is optional and not required to use Meetlyr Services. If you choose voluntary verification:

  • You consent to identity verification via third-party providers (Didit, Onfido, or similar)

  • Your identity data is processed for fraud prevention and compliance purposes

  • Your verified status may be revoked if information becomes inaccurate

  • Verified status does not guarantee your trustworthiness or safe behavior

5.4 User Responsibility & Risk Acknowledgment

By using Meetlyr, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • You are responsible for assessing the trustworthiness of other users

  • Meetlyr does not perform comprehensive background checks on all users

  • You should exercise caution when meeting strangers and take appropriate personal safety precautions

  • Meetlyr is not liable for conduct of unverified or verified users

  • Meetlyr is not responsible for fraud, misrepresentation, or harm caused by other participants

5.5 Data Retention

Identity verification data is retained only as long as necessary for fraud prevention and legal compliance (typically 3-5 years for AML/KYC purposes). See our Privacy Policy for details: https://meetlyr.com/privacy-policy


6. Events and Gatherings

6.1 Event Organization

The Platform’s Services are limited to organizing and coordinating community events and gatherings.

We make no explicit or implied guarantees regarding event venues or experiences, specifically:

  • If you select a preference (such as dining preferences, activity type, or venue style), we cannot guarantee the availability of these options at the chosen venue (“Venue”). These preferences are treated as guidelines, not restrictions

  • We do not guarantee accommodation of dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or other special requirements at Venues

  • If you have special requirements, review event details directly. If unsuitable, contact us, and we will attempt to suggest alternative events or reschedule your registration, though changes are not guaranteed

Event registrations open and close as indicated on the Platform. Last-minute registrations may be offered if availability permits.

If an event does not suit you, you may contact us to explore alternatives; however, changes are not guaranteed. Cancellations made after the specified cancellation period (outlined in the “Cancellation Policy” section) are subject to the respective terms.

Only registrations made through the Platform are accepted or refundable. We are not responsible for bookings made outside the Platform.

6.2 Event Details and Attendance

The duration of events is determined by the participants and event organizers.

The Venue address will be communicated via the Platform on the day of or the day before your event. We reserve the right to modify the Venue or its location due to unforeseen circumstances.

You agree to attend events as an individual. Additional guests or companions, even if they are Meetlyr users, are not permitted to accompany you without prior authorization.

We make no guarantees regarding the number of attendees at any event.

Costs associated with events (meals, beverages, activities, or other expenses) are not included in any service fee and are entirely at your expense unless explicitly stated otherwise.

We strive to align event experiences with your selected preferences. Budget estimates, where provided, are approximate and evolve over time to reflect local market costs. While subjective, these are general guidelines only, and actual costs may vary.

Users are encouraged to review event details and associated costs directly to ensure they match their preferences.


7. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

7.1 Single-Time Event Tickets (One-Off Bookings)

NO REFUNDS are issued for single-time event ticket bookings, regardless of cancellation timing.

This is in accordance with UK consumer law, which exempts live leisure events from standard refund rights. Once you book a single-time event ticket, this is a binding commitment.

Exceptions to No-Refund Policy:

  • Meetlyr cancels the event

  • Event is rescheduled to a significantly different date or location (you may request refund or reschedule)

  • Material change to event details (you may request refund or alternative event)

7.2 Subscription Events (Recurring/Multiple Events)

For subscription-based event access, the following cancellation policy applies:

Cancellations Made More Than 48 Hours Before Event:

  • Full automatic refund via original payment method

  • Refunds processed within 5–10 business days

Cancellations Made Within 48 Hours of Event:

  • Non-refundable (late cancellation fee applies)

  • Repeated late cancellations may result in account restrictions

7.3 No-Shows (Booked but Did Not Attend)

  • Forfeiture of payment

  • Repeated no-shows (2+ incidents) may result in booking restrictions or account suspension

  • Habitual no-show behavior (2 or more incidents) may result in permanent account termination

  • If a user fails to attend 2 or more events without prior notice his subscription will be cancelled without any refund. This is in line with our policy to keep our community safe and ensure pleasant experiences for all participants. 

IMPORTANT: Users acknowledge that they have read and understood this refund policy before booking and accept these terms unconditionally.


8. Messaging Service

8.1 Messaging Feature

Meetlyr provides a private messaging platform for users to communicate with other participants from past events. Messaging is provided “as-is” without warranty.

8.2 Prohibited Messaging Content

You agree not to use Messaging to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users

  • Solicit personal information, money, or inappropriate contact

  • Share misleading or fraudulent information

  • Spam or send unsolicited commercial messages

  • Violate any Community Guidelines or applicable law

Violations may result in messaging restrictions or account termination.

8.3 No Warranty for Messaging

Meetlyr does NOT guarantee:

  • That messages will be delivered reliably or immediately

  • That messages will not be lost or corrupted

  • That messages are encrypted or secure

  • That other users will respond or engage appropriately

Users should not rely on Messaging for urgent communications; use other channels for time-sensitive or sensitive matters.


9. Additional Services

9.1 Maintenance

During the Service period, we provide corrective and adaptive maintenance:

  • Corrective Maintenance: Addressing bugs or malfunctions reported on the Platform

  • Adaptive Maintenance: Implementing improvements and adding new features or technical installations

Scheduled maintenance may temporarily restrict or suspend access to the Platform. You must accept necessary updates to ensure optimal Service use. Failure to install updates may slow or degrade your access.

9.2 Hosting

We host the Platform and data on servers within the European Union, operated by professional hosting providers under an obligation of means.

9.3 Technical Support

For any technical difficulties, contact us at business@meetlyr.com. Technical support is available during business hours. Response times will vary based on the issue.


10. Subscription Duration and Renewal

You can subscribe to Services in two forms:

  • Ticket: Grants access for a specified duration, as indicated on the Platform

  • Subscription: Begins on the subscription date for an initial period indicated on the Platform and renews automatically for successive periods of the same length unless canceled per the “Termination of Services” section

Upon subscription expiration, you may continue using the Platform for free solely for Messaging. In this case, Meetlyr’s obligations and guarantees no longer apply.


11. Financial Terms

11.1 Service Pricing

Service prices are listed on the Platform in the indicated currency.

Promotions or discounts may be offered but are limited to the validity period of the offer.

11.2 Payment Methods and Invoicing

On the Mobile App: Payments are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. Meetlyr has no control over payment processing, currency changes, or transfer fees. Refund requests must be addressed to the respective store. Meetlyr does not store or process bank details.

On the Website: Payment options depend on your location, device type, and other factors. Subscriptions are renewed automatically unless canceled, and payment is charged accordingly.

Failure to pay on time may result in immediate suspension of Services until full payment is received.


12. Your Obligations

By using our Services, you:

12.1 Provide Accurate Information

Guarantee the accuracy of the information submitted in the registration form and commit to keeping it updated.

12.2 Maintain Account Security

Ensure the confidentiality and security of your login credentials. Any access to the Platform using your credentials will be considered as performed by you. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

12.3 Respect Laws and Guidelines

Comply with applicable laws, including local laws at event locations, and adhere to our Community Guidelines and safety guidelines.


13. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliations

  • Solicit personal or financial information from other users

  • Use another user’s account

  • Conduct political campaign activities or seek to influence elections using the Platform, except to express personal opinions

  • Share private or proprietary information without proper authorization

  • Use meta tags, codes, or other references to Meetlyr to redirect users to unrelated websites

  • Develop or use third-party applications interacting with our Services without written consent

  • Create a new account after being suspended or terminated, unless explicitly authorized

You must also refrain from:

  • Exploiting the Services for unlawful or fraudulent purposes

  • Violating any laws, regulations, or contractual obligations

  • Promoting third-party services or engaging in unauthorized commercial activity

  • Sharing content that is offensive, misleading, or violates third-party rights (including intellectual property or privacy rights)

  • Posting malicious software or harmful materials (e.g., viruses, spyware, or worms)

  • Using the Platform in ways that could harm Meetlyr’s reputation or the integrity of its systems

Content Restrictions

You are prohibited from sharing content that:

  • Is offensive, abusive, or causes psychological harm

  • Violates public decency or is deemed inappropriate (e.g., pornographic, racist, or defamatory)

  • Contains false, fraudulent, or misleading information

  • Includes unauthorized depictions of individuals (e.g., minors without parental consent)

If you fail to meet these obligations, we may immediately revoke access to our Services or events and take further measures as outlined under “Enforcement.”


14. Our Obligations

We are committed to delivering Services diligently and in compliance with applicable regulations.

14.1 Service Quality

We make every effort to ensure our Services are of high quality. Regular checks are conducted to verify functionality and accessibility. However, we are not liable for:

  • External network issues or server failures

  • Equipment, service, or network interruptions outside our control

  • User-induced configuration errors

14.2 Data Protection and Security

We implement measures to safeguard Platform data, including:

  • Detection and Containment: Immediately isolating affected systems in the event of a data breach

  • Incident Investigation: Conducting in-depth inquiries and documenting all findings

  • Regulatory Notifications: Reporting breaches to relevant authorities or notifying affected individuals when required

14.3 Content Responsibility

As a hosting provider, we are not responsible for user-generated content but will promptly act to remove illegal content upon notification.


15. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including software, databases, and content (texts, images, logos, etc.), is owned by Meetlyr and protected under intellectual property laws.

Limited License: You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use the Platform for private purposes during the subscription period.

Prohibited Actions: Any reproduction, representation, or use of the Platform’s content for commercial purposes without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.


16. Use of Personal Attributes

By attending Meetlyr events, you consent to being photographed or filmed. You grant us the right to use your image, name, and voice, captured during events or testimonials, to promote our Services for the duration of your subscription and up to 10 years thereafter.


17. Confidentiality

Each party agrees to keep the other party’s confidential information private for the duration of the agreement and three years beyond. This obligation does not apply to information:

  • Already known to the recipient

  • Publicly available without breach of this clause

  • Legally obtained from a third party

  • Disclosed by judicial or regulatory requirement

Confidential information may be shared with employees or subcontractors bound by equivalent confidentiality obligations.


18. Data Protection

Meetlyr complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the GDPR in EU. Details on how personal data is processed and your related rights are available in our Privacy Policy at: https://meetlyr.com/privacy-policy


19. Liability Limitations

19.1 Scope of Meetlyr’s Obligations

Meetlyr provides a Platform to connect users for community events and bookings. Meetlyr’s role is limited to:

  • Providing the booking and messaging infrastructure

  • Facilitating event organization (logistics, reminders, payment processing)

  • General moderation of user content

Meetlyr DOES NOT:

  • Organize, conduct, or control events themselves

  • Guarantee the safety or suitability of venues

  • Perform comprehensive background checks on all users (see Section 5 – Identity Verification)

  • Supervise or monitor events in real-time

19.2 What Meetlyr is NOT Liable For

Meetlyr shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or participation in events, including but NOT limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunity

  • Loss of data or information

  • Loss of opportunity to meet or form connections with other users

  • Reputational harm or emotional distress (except where caused by Meetlyr’s deliberate misconduct)

  • Venue and third-party liability (see Section 19.5 below)

19.3 What Meetlyr DOES Remain Liable For

NOTWITHSTANDING THE ABOVE, Meetlyr remains fully liable for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by Meetlyr’s negligence or willful misconduct

  • Fraud, intentional misrepresentation, or deliberate data breaches

  • Breaches of statutory rights that cannot be legally excluded

  • Direct damages caused by Meetlyr’s gross negligence

  • Violations of applicable data protection laws (GDPR, UK DPA 2018)

19.4 Limitation of Liability Cap (Direct Damages Only)

Subject to Section 19.3 above (liability that CANNOT be capped), Meetlyr’s TOTAL LIABILITY arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the GREATER of:

  • (a) The total amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability, OR

  • (b) EUR 500 (whichever is greater)

19.5 Venue and Third-Party Liability

Meetlyr is NOT responsible for:

  • Condition, safety, or accessibility of event venues

  • Actions or conduct of venue staff or proprietors

  • Other participants’ behavior, harassment, or misconduct

  • Accidents, injuries, or property damage occurring at venues or events

  • Dietary restrictions, accessibility accommodations, or special needs not honored by venues

USERS ASSUME ALL RISKS inherent in meeting strangers and attending third-party venues. Meetlyr recommends that users take appropriate personal safety precautions.

19.6 No Liability for Service Interruptions

Meetlyr shall not be liable for:

  • Platform downtime, technical failures, or service interruptions beyond Meetlyr’s reasonable control

  • Data loss due to causes beyond Meetlyr’s reasonable control

  • External network failures or third-party infrastructure failures

  • User-induced configuration errors or device failures

19.7 Disclaimer – Information Accuracy

While Meetlyr makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of event information, we provide no warranties regarding:

  • Accuracy of event descriptions, photos, or venue information

  • Availability of specific venue features or services

  • Accuracy of user profiles or self-reported user information

  • Compatibility with other participants


20. Termination of Services

20.1 Subscription Termination

By You: You may cancel your subscription via the Platform at least seven days before the current period ends.

By Us: We may terminate the subscription by sending you an email notification.

Ongoing periods are non-refundable. After termination, access to the Messaging feature is still available but without the guarantees or obligations outlined in these terms.

20.2 Ticket Termination

You may cancel at any time using the Platform. Termination takes effect immediately, and no refunds are issued (except for single-event ticket exceptions noted in Section 7.1).


21. Modifications to Terms

21.1 Right to Modify

Meetlyr reserves the right to modify, amend, or supplement these Terms & Conditions at any time to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements, or operational practices.

21.2 Notice of Material Changes

Material changes (including but not limited to changes in refund policies, liability limitations, fees, or service scope) will be communicated to you via:

  • Email to your registered account email address, AND

  • Prominent notice on the Platform (e.g., banner, popup, or notification)

21.3 Effective Date of Changes

  • For Subscription Services: Material changes become effective at least 30 days after notice is sent

  • For Ticket/One-Time Services: Material changes to refund policy have 30-day notice before applying to future bookings

21.4 Your Right to Object & Cancel

FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS: If you disagree with any material change, you may cancel your subscription before the new terms take effect. No penalty or early termination fees apply if you cancel within 30 days of receiving notice.

FOR ONE-TIME TICKETS: Changes to refund policy do NOT apply retroactively to already-booked events. Your existing ticket is governed by the terms in effect at the time of booking.

21.5 Acceptance by Continued Use

If you continue to use Meetlyr after the effective date of any material change, you are deemed to have accepted the modified terms. If you do not accept, you must cancel your subscription or cease using the Platform.

21.6 Current Version

The version of these Terms published at https://meetlyr.com/terms-conditions is the current, binding version. Previous versions may be requested by contacting business@meetlyr.com.


22. Withdrawal Rights

22.1 Payments Made on the Website

You have the right to withdraw within 14 calendar days from the date of accepting the General Terms.

To exercise your withdrawal right, send either:

  • A completed withdrawal form (Annex 1); or

  • A clear statement expressing your intent to withdraw

Once we receive your withdrawal notice:

  • Refunds will be processed using the original payment method unless you explicitly agree otherwise

  • Refunds will be issued without undue delay, no later than 14 calendar days after receiving your withdrawal request

If you request Services to begin before the withdrawal period ends, you will only be charged for the proportional use of Services during that time.

22.2 Payments Made on the Mobile App

As indicated in the “Financial Terms” section, payments are managed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store. Any applicable withdrawal rights must be exercised directly with the respective store:

  • Google Play: Follow instructions on Google Play’s website. For further assistance, contact their support team

  • Apple App Store: Notify Apple Distribution International via iTunes Store Customer Support for details on withdrawal rights


23. Force Majeure

Meetlyr is not liable for delays or failures in fulfilling contractual obligations due to force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, wars, or government actions beyond reasonable control.

In the event of force majeure:

  • The affected party must notify the other in writing

  • Obligations are suspended upon receipt of the notice and resume within a reasonable timeframe after the force majeure event ceases

  • Both parties remain responsible for obligations not affected by the force majeure and any outstanding payment obligations


24. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us directly at business@meetlyr.com or +36 20 920 96 94 to seek an amicable resolution.

If you are unable to resolve the matter directly, you may pursue legal remedies available to you in your jurisdiction or through alternative dispute resolution methods.


25. Governing Law

These General Terms are governed by the laws of UK, except where mandatory provisions of your local jurisdiction apply.


26. Child Safety Standards Policy

Meetlyr is committed to protecting minors and preventing all forms of child exploitation. We have a zero-tolerance policy for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and the sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Any content, behavior, or activity involving or encouraging child exploitation is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account removal and reporting to authorities.

Users can report concerning behavior or content directly through the in-app “Report” feature or contact our Trust & Safety Team at business@meetlyr.com.

When we become aware of CSAM, we remove it immediately, preserve evidence securely, and report it to the appropriate local authority.

Meetlyr complies with all child safety and data protection laws and maintains a dedicated Child Safety Officer to coordinate investigations and enforcement.

Our goal is to ensure a safe, respectful, and responsible community for everyone.
