Meetlyr Community Guidelines

At Meetlyr, we’re dedicated to creating authentic, joyful, and meaningful connections in a safe and respectful environment. We believe in the power of genuine interactions and prioritize your well-being in all our experiences, both digitally and in person. To ensure a secure and pleasant space for everyone, we utilize a combination of advanced automated systems and skilled human moderators to oversee interactions and address any reports of harmful or illegal conduct.

While we strive to maintain vigilance, we cannot oversee every action. Instead, we provide clear guidelines for acceptable behavior both on and off our platform. Adhering to these guidelines helps us nurture a vibrant, safe community where members can confidently meet, connect, and build lasting relationships.

Please note that breaches of these guidelines may result in content removal, warnings, account restrictions, or, in severe cases, involvement of law enforcement. Report any violations or appeals through our reporting system. We’re also committed to continual improvement by analyzing user interactions to refine our safety measures.

Profile Guidelines

Creating an authentic profile is essential to building trust within the Meetlyr community.

Age Requirement

  • You must be 18 or older to join Meetlyr (21 in the UAE and certain other jurisdictions). Misrepresenting your age is not allowed. We reserve the right to request ID verification at any time to confirm your eligibility.

Profile Photo

  • Upload a clear, recent photo of yourself. Your profile photo should be an honest representation of your appearance. Avoid excessive filters, digital alterations, symbols, text overlays, or memes. Photos should be appropriate and recognizable as a genuine photograph of you.

Name

  • Provide your legal name or a genuine name you go by. We may request ID verification to confirm your identity. Fake names or impersonation is prohibited. Each profile must represent a single, real person.

Contact Information

  • Confirm your email address during registration. Provide a valid phone number for account verification and community safety purposes. This information helps us verify your identity and enables account recovery.

Bio and Description

  • Keep your bio honest and accurate. Use this space to genuinely introduce yourself and your interests. Avoid misleading descriptions or false claims about your background, profession, or intentions.

Conduct & Content Guidelines

All members of Meetlyr commit to upholding respectful, safe, and inclusive conduct both online and during in-person meetups.

Sexual Content & Harassment

Nudity and Sexual Activity

  • No explicit, vulgar, or sexual content is permitted on Meetlyr. This includes sharing explicit images or videos, making inappropriate sexual comments, or soliciting sexual services or content.

  • Example: A member shares explicit images in private messages, makes unwanted sexual comments on another member’s profile, or attempts to recruit others for adult services. This behavior is immediately grounds for account suspension.

Sexual Harassment

  • Any unwelcome and non-physical sexual conduct among members is strictly prohibited. This includes sending unsolicited sexually explicit images, making unwanted sexual remarks, objectifying individuals based on their appearance or sexual interests, or threatening to share intimate images without consent.

  • Example: Repeatedly sending sexually suggestive messages after being asked to stop, displaying inappropriate content during video calls, or making degrading comments about someone’s body constitutes sexual harassment and will result in account restrictions or permanent removal.

Violence & Safety

Bullying & Abuse

  • Harassment, bullying, or targeting individuals with insults, intimidation, or emotional abuse is strictly prohibited. This includes mocking someone’s appearance, beliefs, background, or personal circumstances.

  • Example: One member sends repeated insulting messages to another based on their appearance, uses intimidating language, or spreads rumors to damage someone’s reputation within the community. This behavior disrupts our safe environment and will not be tolerated.

Violence or Threats

  • Threatening, promoting, or participating in violence will not be tolerated. This includes threatening physical harm before, during, or after meetups, promoting violent ideologies, or having a verified history of violent or sexual misconduct.

  • Example: Threatening to physically harm another member, posting content that glorifies violence, or having legal documentation of domestic violence restraining orders will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.

Stalking & Harassment

  • Any behavior intended to intimidate, threaten, or repeatedly contact someone without consent is prohibited. This includes following members to meetups after being asked not to, repeated unwanted contact, or doxxing (sharing personal information to harm or intimidate).

  • Example: Continuing to contact a member after they’ve blocked you, showing up at their workplace, or sharing their personal information online will result in immediate account termination and potential law enforcement involvement.

Harmful & Illegal Content

Child Exploitation

  • Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or harms children is strictly banned. This includes sharing, promoting, or discussing child exploitation material or communities that exploit minors.

  • Example: A member discusses involvement in communities that exploit minors or shares such content. This is an immediate violation resulting in permanent account removal and law enforcement notification.

Controlled Substances

  • The sale, promotion, or distribution of illegal drugs or the misuse of legal substances is not allowed. This includes discussing illegal drug use in ways that promote or normalize it, or offering to connect members with illegal substances.

  • Example: Offering to sell or distribute illegal drugs, providing instructions on drug use, or attempting to connect members with drug dealers will result in immediate account suspension and potential legal action.

Dangerous Organizations & Ideologies

  • Association with violent, extremist, or terrorist groups is banned. Members cannot promote, recruit for, or express support for organizations known for violence, terrorism, or illegal activities.

  • Example: A member promotes a radical group known for violence, recruits for extremist causes, or glorifies terrorist organizations. This immediately disqualifies them from the community.

Hate Speech & Discrimination

  • We value diversity and inclusion. Hate speech, dehumanization, or discrimination of marginalized groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or national origin is not allowed.

  • Example: Making derogatory comments about someone’s race, using slurs, promoting discriminatory ideologies, or encouraging others to discriminate creates a hostile environment and results in account suspension or removal.

Fraud & Deception

Impersonation

  • Creating fake profiles, impersonating others, or using misleading identities is prohibited. Each person may have only one active account. Using multiple accounts to deceive, evade restrictions, or disrupt the community is grounds for permanent ban.

  • Example: Using a fake profile to mislead others about your identity, creating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions, or impersonating a public figure will result in immediate account removal.

Scams & Fraud

  • Engaging in deceptive financial activities, money laundering, pyramid schemes, or fraudulent investment opportunities is prohibited. Members cannot use Meetlyr to defraud, manipulate, or financially exploit others.

  • Example: Offering fake investment opportunities, running pyramid schemes, requesting money under false pretenses, or using the platform to commit financial fraud will result in account termination and potential law enforcement involvement.

Misinformation

  • Spreading false information, conspiracy theories, or deliberately misleading content that could cause harm is banned. This includes sharing false claims about meetup venues, falsifying your qualifications or background, or promoting health misinformation that could endanger others.

  • Example: Sharing false claims about a meetup location to create panic, fabricating professional credentials, or promoting unproven medical treatments will result in content removal and account warnings or suspension.

Commercial & Illegal Activities

Commercial Activity

  • Meetlyr is not a marketplace. Selling, promoting, or advertising illegal or regulated goods without proper authorization is prohibited. This includes counterfeit goods, unlicensed alcohol, weapons, and any prohibited items.

  • Example: A member uses meetups to sell counterfeit designer goods, unlicensed alcohol, weapons, or other illegal items. This is immediately grounds for account suspension and potential law enforcement involvement.

Human Trafficking & Exploitation

  • Any involvement in human trafficking, labor exploitation, or crisis exploitation is strictly forbidden and will be reported to law enforcement.

  • Example: Attempting to recruit members for trafficking, exploiting global crises for financial gain, or attempting to sell fake relief items during emergencies results in immediate permanent ban and legal action.

Disruptive & Inappropriate Content

Spam & Disruptive Behavior

  • Bulk unwanted content, misleading links, repetitive messages, or creating disruptive profiles is prohibited. Members should not spam others with promotional content, fake meetup invitations, or malicious links.

  • Example: Creating multiple profiles to spam members with promotional offers, sending bulk messages advertising unrelated services, or sharing misleading links for financial gain will result in account suspension.

Violent Content

  • Sharing graphic content involving injury, weapons, or gore is prohibited. This includes graphic hunting photos, accident scenes, or any disturbing violent imagery.

  • Example: Posting graphic photos of injuries, hunting kills, or violence makes others uncomfortable and violates community standards. Such content will be removed.

Mental Health & Self-Harm

  • Content that glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders is banned. However, sharing personal mental health experiences is allowed if done sensitively and constructively. We encourage members to seek professional support and provide resources for crisis assistance.

  • Example: Promoting self-harm as a coping mechanism or encouraging others to engage in dangerous behaviors crosses the line and will result in content removal. Members sharing genuine experiences for support are encouraged to do so responsibly.

Attendance & Meetup Guidelines

Reliable attendance is essential to maintaining a trustworthy community of members.

Attending Your Meetups

  • Commit to attending the meetups you register for, or cancel within the allotted timeframe if plans change. Members who do not show up to more than two scheduled meetups without canceling may face account suspension or permanent removal.

  • Example: Repeatedly registering for meetups and then not showing up or canceling at the last minute undermines the community’s ability to plan events and disrespects other members’ time.

Respectful Conduct During Meetups

  • Treat all members with respect during in-person gatherings. Follow local laws and respect the rules of the venue. Disruptive behavior, intoxication, or aggressive conduct may result in removal from the meetup and account restrictions.

Prohibition of Fraud & Multi-Service Booking

  • Members are not allowed to register for the same meetup through multiple services or create duplicate bookings for the purpose of exploiting special promotions or discounts. This fraudulent practice undermines the fairness of the community.

Account Management

Profile Updates

  • Keep your profile information accurate and up-to-date. If your circumstances change significantly, update your profile to maintain community trust. Outdated or false information may result in account restrictions.

Inactive Accounts

  • Accounts inactive for two consecutive years will be deleted to maintain platform hygiene and protect user data. We will notify users before deletion and provide an opportunity to reactivate.

Reporting & Safety

Your safety and the safety of our community are our highest priorities.

How to Report

  • If you experience or witness violations of these guidelines, report them immediately through our in-app reporting system or by contacting our trust and safety team at [support email]. Provide as much detail as possible, including screenshots, usernames, and the nature of the violation.

  • Reports can be made anonymously, and we do not tolerate retaliation against users who make good-faith reports.

Investigation Process

  • Our moderation team reviews all reports and investigates thoroughly. We use both automated systems and human judgment to assess violations and take appropriate action. Users will be notified of actions taken regarding their accounts, where legally appropriate.

Appeals

  • If you believe your account was suspended or removed in error, you may appeal through our appeals process. Submit your appeal within 30 days of the action, and our team will review your case.

Enforcement & Consequences

Violations of these guidelines result in escalating consequences designed to protect the community.

Enforcement Actions

  • Violations may result in one or more of the following actions, depending on severity:

    • Content Removal: Offending messages, photos, or comments are deleted.

    • Warning: First-time minor violations result in a formal warning to the user.

    • Temporary Suspension: Account access is restricted for a set period (typically 7-30 days) for moderate violations.

    • Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations result in permanent account removal.

    • Law Enforcement Involvement: Illegal activities are reported to appropriate authorities.

Severity Considerations

  • Repeat violations result in harsher penalties. Severe violations (child exploitation, violence, fraud) may result in immediate permanent removal without warning.

  • Meetlyr reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts without prior notice if we determine there is an immediate threat to user safety or community integrity.

Zero Tolerance Violations

  • The following violations result in immediate permanent account removal:

    • Child exploitation or abuse

    • Human trafficking or labor exploitation

    • Credible threats of violence

    • Verified sexual assault or domestic violence convictions

    • Terrorist or extremist activities

    • Persistent severe harassment or stalking

We are committed to maintaining Meetlyr as a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community where genuine connections thrive. We continuously review our policies, monitor emerging safety concerns, and refine our moderation practices. Your feedback helps us improve our community standards. Meetlyr does not take any direct or indirect accountability for community behaviors however we try our best to moderate with your feedbacks.
